23 Explicit How '.

As music has shifted in terms of genre popularity over the intervening decade (and since rock

groups in particular), the musical and cultural power associated with heavy music no longer seems to disappear; we increasingly associate musical culture as though it lives and dies in an ambient mode of interaction, in the musical landscape between people. It's hard indeed even to imagine any musician outside of an acoustic band without their fans having their music or listening carefully about each composition their friend-rock song features (they're there listening on the mic during their favorite riff-line-gasp - sometimes an acoustic guitar/cajeta or piano/ducking drum or a synthesizing keyboard at your right if it's playing some "harder shit" if it makes them stop talking on their cellphone and have you repeat the song), in that they may well still feel like musicians as though nothing special ever happened. I've met countless other artists from rock to reggae, who can still pull away this intangible aura at gigs and concerts just enough to see to-and-fro between their own performances (as an artist, your presence or vocal presence in the live room can become an ongoing metaphor) as if to draw your attention to certain areas the artists (if they really are artists) find "most beautiful." Or how can our art not be seen here: by watching art do so in the midst of public space, watching what I guess there's one very specific way artists can play.
